Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Blaze at Pleasure Bay Apartments in Long Branch

A fire at the Pleasure Bay Apartments on Atlantic Avenue in Long Branch was quickly extinguished by area firefighters.

The fire was contained to the first and second floors of an apartment at the end of one building closer to Branchport Creek. It was reported shortly after 2 p.m. and was under control by 2:45 p.m.

One person was reportedly being treated for minor burns, but it is unknown if that person was a firefighter or a resident.

Fire trucks from Asbury Park, Neptune and West Long Branch were also at the scene.

A portion of Atlantic Avenue in front of the apartments was closed to traffic as of 3 p.m., but should be reopened soon.
