Eatontown Teen Stabbed Multiple Times in Wolcott Park Late Friday Night

Victim was chased into the park after an altercation in the McDonald's parking lot on Route 35 around midnight on July 1.

A late-night altercation in the McDonald's parking lot on Route 35 in Eatontown left one borough teen with multiple stab wounds in the head, neck and back after being chased into a nearby park Friday, according to police.

The 15-year-old victim, who lives in Eatontown, was chased into neighboring around midnight by four assailants and was stabbed 11 times with a folding buck knife when he slipped and fell to the ground, according to Eatontown Police Public Information Officer Det. Lt. Lawrence Tyler.

The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center where he was admitted to the intensive care unit and remains at the hospital, said Tyler.

"Several juveniles" were loitering in the parking lot of the McDonald's at 18 Rte. 35 around 11 p.m. on July 1 when a car -- possibly a silver, four-door Honda -- pulled up and its two light-skinned black male passengers got into a verbal argument with one of the teens.

The vehicle left the scene as did a few of the juveniles in the group, including the individual who had gotten into the argument.

Witnesses reported that the silver car returned to the McDonald's lot about 15 to 20 minutes later, followed by a green minivan and four black males, approximately 18-20 years old, emerged and began to attack two juveniles who had remained in the parking lot.

One victim, who is 16 and also lives in Eatontown, was punched in the side but managed to run to the front of the McDonald's and avoid his attackers.

A second victim was punched in the head and fell to the ground. He got up and ran into nearby Wolcott Park on Lewis Street. He slipped and fell again and was stabbed 11 times by one of the four assailants. The knife was found at the scene.

Police have made no arrests and ask anyone with information on the accused individuals or witnesses to the incident to plese contact Det. Philip Emanuele at (732) 389-7629.

Tyler stressed that there was no connection to the earlier Friday evening in Wolcott Park. He said that the victims were not in the park for the movie night and had arrived at the McDonald's after movie goers had left the park.
