Houses were located on Broad Street and Throckmorton Avenue

An Eatontown man has been arrested and charged with burglarizing two borough homes over the last two months.

Benjamin Ware, 22, of Throckmorton Avenue was arrested by Detective John Gugliuzza on Tuesday, April 2 and charged with burglary and theft.

A homeowner reported to the Eatontown Police that their Broad Street home had been burglarized several times while he was on vacation, according to Eatontown Det. Lawrence Tyler.

"The homeowner stated that he had recently purchased a home surveillance system and he put the system up just prior to leaving on his vacation to try it out," Tyler said. "He stated that upon returning from vacation he checked the system to see how it had worked and he observed Mr. Ware enter his residence on four different occasions between (March 27 and March 30) and remove jewelry from a jewelry box in his bedroom."

Tyler said the homeowner was familiar with Ware because he lived in the same neighborhood.

Ware allegedly stole jewelry valued at about $5,100 according to court documents.

Ware was subsequently charged with another burglary, which had occurred on Throckmorton Avenue on Feb. 25 and had not yet been reported. The jewelry stolen from the Throckmorton Avenue home was valued at over $500, according to court documents.

Ware was processed at the Eatontown Police Department and was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institute in lieu of $10,000.00 full bail with no ten percent option, according to Tyler.
