Eatontown Firemen's Softball Slides into League Championship
The team beat Monmouth Beach in last week's playoff games and moves on to face Port-au-peck in the league championship on Aug. 7.
The Eatontown Fire Department slid into the league championship on Sunday, beating the Monmouth Beach Fire Department's team and moving on to face Oceanport next week.
The two teams faced off on July 31 at Firemen's Field in Eatontown's in a best-of-three playoff. Eatontown won the first game 17-6 and Monmouth Beach forfeited the second two games.
The Firemen's Sunday Softball League championship game will be held on Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. at Oceanport's Blackberry Park and will pit Eatontown against the Port-au-peck team.
