Drive Through Window: Tinton Falls Woman Crashes Through Office

A Tinton Falls woman was uninjured after accidentally driving her car through the front of an office building in Shrewsbury.

An elderly woman was uninjured after she drove her car through a plate glass window at an office complex at 1030 Route 35 in Shrewsbury on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Helen Sherbet, a Tinton Falls resident, accelerated up an embankment in front of the building and right through the window. Witnesses at the scene said Sherbet, an octogenarian, opened her car door and stepped out into the office, without a scratch on her.

The call was reported at approximately 10:47a.m. The car was removed a little over an hour later.

The first floor of the office building was unoccupied, responding Shrewsbury Police Lt. Louis Ferraro said, as the car completely entered the building and the unused office space.

The accident remains under investigation and no summonses have been issued.
