Monmouth Road Reopened After Early Morning Crash Snaps Pole

Road has been closed between Cedar Avenue and Woolley Place

Monmouth Road has been reopened to traffic after an early morning crash closed a portion of the street for several hours.

The West Long Branch Police said a an accident occurred around the area of Park Meadow Lane and snapped utility pole, causing the road to be closed from Woolley Place to Cedar Avenue.

The utility pole has been secured and Jersey Central Power & Light will be returning at a later date to transfer power and telephone lines, police said. JCP&L is reporting no outages as a result of the pole being knocked down.

Traffic is running smoothly again in both directions after being detoured for about 5 hours Thursday morning.

Sorry JCP&L but the electricity was out in my neighborhood from about 1:20 AM until after 8:30Am the next morning as a result of that accident. The only reasons there were few to no complaints was the hour. Who notices at 3 AM the lights are out ?
