Bicyclist Injured in Eatontown Crash

The Tinton Falls man suffered minor injuries in the crash.

A Tinton Falls bicyclist was injured after he was hit by a car in Eatontown on Thursday afternoon. 

Javier Mendez, 26, was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center by the Tinton Falls EMS following the accident where he was treated for a "non-life threatening head injury," according to Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler.

The accident occurred on Sept. 26 around 3:43 at the intersection of Hope Road and Wycoff Road.

The vehicle that hit Mendez was driver Diane Katz, 84, of Boynton Beach FL.

Tyler said the crash is being investigated by Eatonown Police Officer Kenneth Errickson and that anyone who witnessed the crash should contact him at 732-542-0100.
