Jay Dooley Memorial Foundation - Shooting Hoops for a Cause

JDMF is a family foundation dedicated to the memory of Jay Dooley and the special needs of adolescents within our community.

This year, I am honored to be affiliated with Jay Dooley Memorial Foundation.

Being a native of Fair Haven and graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, I have had the pleasure of knowing as well as growing up with the Dooley family.

Please help me support such a wonderful charity and "Help Jay Help the Kids."

For those of you that aren't familiar with JDMF, all I can say is that I have never met a group of people, such as Jerry Dooley and the founding members, that had such passion for a cause. Honestly, it was hard not to get involved after speaking to Jerry personally. With an incredible tenacity to contribute to the community, combined with their desire to the help children and their families, this was nothing short of amazing. Not only was I inspired by their story, it sparked the my desire to get involved personally.

For those of that may not know about this organization, Jay Dooley Memorial Foundation is to honor the life of Jay Dooley, long-time Rumson resident and graduate of Rumson-Fair Haven.  As a friend of Jay's aptly states, "Jay was an athlete by design and an artist at heart." He was naturally both rugged and gentle.

Due to Jay's love of basketball and his incredible passion for helping children, Jay Dooley Memorial Foundation was formed.

The mission of JDMF,  a 501 ©(3) public charity, is to help children who may have a learning disability or suffer from depression, to assist their families as well as the educators and schools.

JDMF's missiom is to address the lack of critical mental and medical health services for families in need and ease the economic burden associated with these services. They aim to provide financial assistance so families can get proper medical diagnosis and treatment for their special needs child.

In addition, JDMF will fund programs to educate both parents and special needs teachers for the benefit of their children / students. Therefore, your support with our annual basketball tournament allows JDMF to continue to help these children and their families.

Last year’s inaugural events were attended by over 800 people including local and state dignitaries. The 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament brought in over 95 teams from within the tri-state area and Virginia, and JDMF is expecting increased participation at this year's event.

JDMF would like to thank all of you that have shown your continued support and look forward to seeing you this year!

Please join JDMF for their second annual:
