Monmouth Beach Residents Be Aware and Be Heard

A proposal is before the Monmouth Beach Planning Board requesting numerous variances to add a third floor to the Channel Club Catering Facility with an occupancy of up to 600 people and a NEW public restaurant for 160 people in addition to the rebuilt Sallie Tee’s for 229 people and the existing Marina Pool and Bar.

These additions may have the potential to fundamentally change the quiet residential profile of Monmouth Beach.The proposal also includes:

•An outdoor area at the NEW public restaurant and bar
•Addition of outdoor space and windows that open at the catering facility
•More traffic through the neighborhood and parking demand beyond the capacity of the lotPotential Ramifications to Monmouth Beach
•New traffic patterns, widening of streets, changes to street directions
•More street parking
•Increased noise that may travel across the water and travel farther because of the increased height
•More bus traffic and truck delivery trafficNumerous variances including height and parking are being requested.

 The only time that residents may weigh-in, ask questions or request modifications is at the public meetings.  If you have attended prior meetings don’t stop now. Participate in your local government process.

Participate in the process and let your opinion be heard now so that the Board can factor it into their decision on the proposal that could change Monmouth Beach’s profile.
