Community Corner
FEMA, Insurance & Sandy
What I'd like to know is why are so many other towns, communities & counties on board with Stop FEMA Now & Long Branch isn't? This group is dedicated to putting a halt to the scam FEMA & the insurance companies are now perpetuating, trying to raise rates into the 10s of thousands on the basis of one storm. (And if you believe the Rutgers study, it's a 712 year storm, not 100 as first thought.) Stop FEMA Now started on Facebook with a handful of people, has now extended to over 9 states & includes Senators & Congressmen. But not one peep from Long Branch. Apparently, the LB government doesn't care about the people who live in its city, who won't be able to afford to live there anymore. And if you think this has nothing to do with you because you don't live in a flood zone, you'd best get with the program because you have no idea what's going on. Pretty soon, if you have a puddle in your driveway, they'll be after you too. If you think I'm kidding, just do your own investigation.
