Obituary: Louis L. Toscano

Long-time Long Branch teacher and Seabrook Village resident died June 1

Louis L. Toscano, 98 of Tinton Falls died peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2012 at The Renaissance Gardens at Seabrook Village.

Born in Bayonne, he had lived in Lakewood and Long Branch before moving to Tinton Falls 13 years ago.

He retired as a school teacher from the Long Branch Board of Education after 48 years of teaching. Lou served his country honorably in the US Navy during WWII and attended St. Michael’s R.C. Church in West End. He was predeceased by his brothers, David and Ralph Toscano.

Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Blanche Toscano; 3 sons and 2 daughters in law, Fredric Toscano of Eatontown; Timothy and Suzan Toscano of Howell; Louis Jr. and Joan Toscano of Howell; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, June 7, from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7:30 p.m. at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.), Long Branch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to SolAmor Hospice Foundation, 1415 Hooper Ave., Suite 203, Toms River, NJ 08753.
