Obituary: Colette 'Charlie' Tripp, 74

Memorial gathering Monday for longtime Eatontown resident

Colette “Charlie” Tripp, 74, of Eatontown passed away on Thursday, Jan. 17, at her daughter’s home in Howell. Colette was born and raised at the Jersey Shore and moved to Eatontown in the early 1970s. She was a bartender at Pine Tree Tavern in Eatontown.

Colette was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Murray; her parents, John and Evelyn Coughlin; and a sister, Loretta Borman.

She is survived by her husband, Kennith Tripp of Eatontown; her only daughter, Denise Walling and her husband, James of Howell; a granddaughter, Jennifer Desider and her husband, Michael of Brick; two grandsons, Jonathan R. Ramos and his girlfriend, Jordon Tulcol of Point Pleasant and Zachariah Walling and his girlfriend, Lorraine Owenburg of Jackson; four great grandchildren, Riley Matthew and Gabriella Desider of Brick, Victoria and Gianni Ramos of Point Pleasant; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Tripp and her family of Pennsylvania; four brothers; two sisters; nieces and nephews; and her faithful canine companion, Peanut.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township, from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21. Cremation was private.
