Summer Research Symposium held at Monmouth University on August 13

Local students work on collaborative research projects with Monmouth University faculty

Now in its fifth year, the SRP enables students to work on collaborative research projects under the supervision of School of Science faculty and staff. Student researchers carried out exciting original research in a range of disciplines including biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, nanotechnology, software engineering, homeland defense and emergency preparedness, and watershed management.

84 students including undergraduate and graduate students from Monmouth University, and students from area colleges and universities including Cornell University, Carnegie Mellon University, Franklin and Marshall College, Mercer County Community College, Notre Dame, Princeton, Rutgers University,  Spellman College, and Villanova participated in the program. High school students from High Technology High School, Howell High School, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, and Ocean Township High School are also involved in the program.

The SRP Symposium was held on Tuesday, August 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Erlanger Gardens on the Monmouth University campus. At the symposium, students presented their research in poster-format presentations.
