Sovereign Bank, N.A. through Santander Universities Opens New Branch at Monmouth University
Sovereign Bank, N.A., through its Santander Universities division opened a new branch of its bank at Monmouth University.
Sovereign Bank, N.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Banco Santander, S.A., through its Santander Universities division opened a new branch of its bank on Monmouth University’s campus on May 31 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Automated Teller Machine (ATM) services are now available to the community in the Stafford Student Center. In addition, an ATM will open in the Multipurpose Activity Center (MAC).
During the ceremony, Santander US Country Head and Sovereign Bank President and CEO Jorge Moran and Monmouth University President Paul G. Gaffney II signed an agreement highlighting the partnership between the bank and Monmouth University. The bank is providing support to Monmouth University’s International Entrepreneurship in Spain Program, Sin Fronteras Chile Project, and Institute for Global Understanding’s Project BAM.

Santander Universities USA was introduced in the United States in 2009 through Sovereign Bank and has now resulted in agreements with 25 universities and colleges. The program supported 775 scholarships in 2011.
Santander Universities Global Division is the channel through which Banco Santander supports the higher education sector in these countries in such areas as teaching and research, international cooperation, knowledge and technology transfer, entrepreneurial initiatives, student mobility and innovation.
