Monmouth University Announces Finalists for New President

Search Yields Four Outstanding Candidates for University’s Top Post

West Long Branch, NJ, (January 14, 2013) Monmouth University confirmed today that it has narrowed its search for a new president to four finalists. Each of the candidates will visit the campus in late January and early February to meet with the campus community.

A 16-member search committee started looking for a new president in May to succeed Paul G. Gaffney II who will be retiring on June 30, 2013 after a decade of dedicated leadership.

“The search committee has been impressed with the exceptional pool of candidates seeking the position of the presidency,” said Dr. Marcia Clever, trustee and co-chair of the search committee. “It has been difficult to choose the finalists because of the high caliber of individuals who applied for the position.” Alfred J. Schiavetti, Jr., trustee and co-chair of the search committee added: “We are confident that we have selected the best people to compete in the final round and are excited to introduce them to the university community later this month.”

The four finalists are: Paul Richard Brown, Ph.D., dean of the College of Business and Economics, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; F. Javier Cevallos, Ph.D., president of Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pennsylvania; Stanley (“Stas”) C. Preczewski, Ph.D., vice president for academic and student affairs, Georgia Gwinnett College, Lawrenceville, Georgia; and Donald H. Sebastian, Ph.D., senior vice president for research and development, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, New Jersey.

During the visits to the university campus, the candidates will meet with administrators, alumni, faculty, staff, students and trustees in a series of scheduled meetings. The successor will be chosen by the university board of trustees and announced to the public subsequent to the campus visits.

I will drive through the area tomorrow to see if I spot anything! Try googling volunteer searchRead More groups for missing dogs. There are a few in the NJ area. Also ask the local SPCA and Humane Society to see if they can lend you humane traps. Try patrolling the area with food of a strong odor...raw meat, steak, etc. Search in tiny groups and split up to avoid scaring him away, and always bring food and a leash in case you have to lure him over and then leash him. Try also sitting in the area last spotted quietly to see if he approaches you. Bring food so he smells it. Just a few things I have learned while doing some dog searches. Keep sharing and put up posters locally...it helps!
