Applications Available for Monmouth County Citizen Police Academy

The 12-hour block of instruction on law enforcement services in Monmouth County is free.

Applications for enrollment in the 17th annual Citizen Police Academy are being accepted through Friday, Sept. 13.

Citizen Police Academy is a 12-hour block of instruction providing an overview of law enforcement services in Monmouth County. The classes feature presentations by municipal, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

The free course consists of six sessions, which will be held at the Monmouth County Police Academy in Freehold. The classes run from 7 to 9 p.m. on consecutive Tuesday evenings.

Classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 24, with graduation on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

This course is also a prerequisite for becoming a member of the VISCOMP Volunteer Program.

Applications are available to Monmouth County residents age 18 or older who have no criminal record. Enrollment is limited.
