Computer classes for job seekers offered at Eastern Branch Library

The Career Information Center at the Eastern Branch Library in Shrewsbury will offer a Computer Classroom series this September specifically designed to help job seekers.

The classes will be held on Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Eastern Branch, located at 1001 Route 35 in Shrewsbury, 07702. The program will utilize the library’s computer classroom, and each participant will have access to a computer.

Space is limited to 10 persons per session and registration is required. Please call the library at 1-866-941-8188  to register for these classes.

  • Thursday, Sept 5:  Introduction to Resume Writing with Microsoft Word 2010.
  • Thursday, Sept 12: Introduction to Online Job Searching.
  • Thursday, Sept 19: Business Research for Job-Searchers.
  • Thursday, Sept 26: Job Searching with Job and Career Accelerator.

 

 These programs are designed to help jobseekers develop essential computer skills and to provide online tools to aid in their employment search.  

The Career Information Center at the Eastern Branch Library maintains a collection of more than 1,300 circulating materials and reference items on choosing a career, changing careers, job hunting, resume writing, interviewing and networking. Online resources include links to online job listings, employment projections, business directories and periodicals.
