Monmouth County SPCA Facing Overcrowding Concerns Following Sandy

The SPCA will be offering donation-only adoptions the next two weekends.

The Monmouth County SPCA has seen an increase in the number of dogs it has been taking in since Hurricane Sandy.

"We have been noticing that ever since Sandy we are having more animals come in from cruelty cases as well as owner surrenders and with so many families still not in their homes not as many potential adopters have been coming in to adopt," Monmouth County SPCA Public Relations Director Lisa Mulhearn said.

This weekend, the SPCA is offering donation-only adoptions for all dogs over 6 months, Mulhearn said.
The donation-only adoption will also be available next weekend, June 28-30.
