Community Corner

The Alchemy of Vegetable Fermentation @ Holmdel, NJ

$40

(Sliding scale, email Dan@returntonature.us) - Supplies Included

Fermentation

of vegetables and plant matter is an ancient alchemical practice of breaking

down plant cells in salt water to extract the highest form of nutrients and

nourish the body with an abundance of vitamins, minerals, and probiotics. In

this day where germaphobia is so prevalent, most of our food is pasteurized to

no end. Thus we are losing culture, and culturing practice. This makes finding

truly fermented foods rare and expensive. Fortunately it is easy, safe and inexpensive to make

fermented foods at home.

This workshop will empower you, with hands on

experience, to make your own healthy fermented foods at home which require no

electricity and no refrigeration. We will explore the process of this ancient

art, the many ways of flavoring with spices and how to easily incorporate

fermented foods into your diet.

Everyone will leave with their own jar of

delicious, nourishing fermented veggies, as well as the knowledge to properly

store and care for them, and of course how to make lots more!

RSVP is required for address. In

order to have the correct amount of supplies prepared we must know in advance.

Please email: Dan@returntonature.us and

let us know you’re coming!
