Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. King: Democracy is Not a Spectator Sport

'The People Speak' lets Hollywood bring to life historian Howard Zinn’s book 'A People’s History of the United States'. Voices of resistance to social injustice throughout American history inspire audiences to recognize the power of ordinary people to enact real change. 

Unknown activists are heard alongside those of icons like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., painting a picture of civil disobedience as a real feature of American life.

Appearing in the film are Marisa Tomei, John Legend, Matt Damon, Rosario Dawson, Danny Glover, Josh Brolin, Viggo Mortensen, Sandra Oh, Eddie Vedder, Morgan Freeman, Bruce Springsteen, and others.
