Free Tax Return Assistance Available in March and April at the Long Branch Public Library

Certified Tax Volunteers Will Help With Your Tax Returns

that time of year again, and with the April 15th filing deadline quickly approaching, the Long Branch Free Public Library is offering free assistance preparing your tax return.

Our dedicated tax volunteers will help you prepare and file both paper or electronic tax returns. You do not need to be a Long Branch resident to benefit from this free service. Tax forms are also available at the library.

Please all the library for the tax schedule. Volunteers are available almost every day, but the hours are variable and the library is closed on Sundays. You may call 732-222-3900, ext. 229 or check our website

What you should bring with you to prepare your return:  


A copy of last year's tax return, Social Security numbers for all tax payers and dependents, final brokerage statements if applicable, all W-2 and 1099 forms showing income, the total amount of property tax and mortgage interest paid last year; any tax booklets
mailed to your home and any unemployment vouchers.
 
You may also need this additional information: 
total medical expenses last year, total spent on college tuition, total spent on childcare (including the name and Tax ID number of the provider), total alimony and any charitable donations.

You will be able to make photocopies, which cost ten cents per page.
