For Freedom They Fought: A Living History Program to Celebrate Black History Month

Long Branch Public Library Celebrates Black History Month with a Civil War Living History Program

Members of the United States Colored Troops Reenactment Unit will present a special program commemorating Black History Month.  Sergeant Charles Harris will present the important role African-American troops from NJ played in Civil War.  The women's perspective will also be represented by two female reenactors. A display of interesting artifacts from the era will be available. This program is co-sponsored by the Long Branch Coventant Church, who will be providing light refreshments representing the Civil War era.  This program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
