Black History Month Book Club Discussion at the Library

The Adult Non-Fiction Book Club will be discussing The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore.  Read the riveting  chronicle of two men with the same name yet dramatically different lives,  both fatherless, both enduring poverty, one in the Bronx, one in Baltimore, coming of age and making choices that will lead one to a Rhodes Scholarship and a life of public service, and the other to life imprisonment for killing a police officer. The author Moore challenges the theories of nature vs. nurture, and perceived advantages of race and class.  Join a lively discussion of how the choices two young men make and decisions that are made for them can change a life at risk on the streets.  Refreshments are provided and you’re welcome to bring your lunch and eat during the discussion. February 21st at the Main Library, 328 Broadway, @1:30 PM.
