Without Power, New Jersey Woman Worries About Her Pet Dragons

She says that most people around her are without power and she's worried about her pets.

Lisa K. lives in an apartment in Randolph, with her husband and two pet beaded dragons. One dragon, Toothless, is 10 months old and the other dragon, Duchess, is 2 months old.

Lisa and her family say they lost power early during the storm and haven't communicated much with others. "I just can't believe the destruction in our state," she said. "Its incredible."

She remembers the noises outside during Sandy. She recalls hearing transformers explode around her home and "the wind that sounded like a fright train," she said.

Lisa doesn't have power at home, but she does at work. She says her street in Randolph is full of fallen trees and that there is only one way in and one way out.

"I wish I could say I am doing ok. I am afraid of losing my dragons right now.  I am trying every which way to get a power source and to house them so they stay safe but no one has power or the people that do are not willing to help."

Lisa says that without a power source to provide heat to her dragons' enclosure, she fears they can only survive for only one more day.
