Winter Weather Advisory Issued Through Tuesday Morning

Combination of snow and freezing rain could cause problems for morning commute

For those commuters who had Monday off thanks to Martin Luther King Day, the Tuesday commute could be problematic as another weather front moves its way through the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that will be in effect until 7 a.m. The predicted storm could bring snow, sleet and freezing rain starting tonight and going into the morning hours. According to the advisory, there could be close to an inch of snow on the ground by the time the storm is done with sleet and freezing rain accumulating on the roads. The combination could make for hazardous driving conditions.

Once the snow and freezing rain has fallen the front is expected to shift to rain around 9 a.m. as temperatures rise above the freezing mark.
