UPDATE: Park Place Water Main Break Should be Repaired by Later Friday Afternoon

New Jersey American Water workers estimate the water will be back on for residents in a portion of Park Place by 4 p.m.

According to an update on the borough's Web site at 3 p.m., water service should be restored by 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. Friday to residents in Park Place affected by the overnight water main break. The road will be passable and New Jersey American Water will return to repave the road on Saturday.

A water main break in Tinton Falls' Park Place that knocked out water service for three roads in the townhouse complex Friday morning should be repaired by about 4 p.m., according to a representative from New Jersey American Water.

The rupture affected service on Austin, Bismark and Cheyenne streets.

NJAW has free water on its trucks available to residents while workers repair the break and get water flowing to the neighborhood.

According to Don Bailey, who is leading a crew of about four NJAW workers, the cause of the overnight break is either a water main or valve, which will be determined once they begin to dig up the road.
