Several Roads Flooded in Long Branch After Morning Rain

Broadway and Second Avenue are two of the roads with the most flooding.

The Long Branch Police said several city roads are being temporarily closed on Monday morning because of flooding.

Long periods of heavy rain this morning have flooded streets such as Broadway and Second Avenue, police said. Other roads with flooding include Hollywood Avenue, Chelsea Avenue by the railroad tracks, Long Branch Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, Joline Avenue and Morrell Street. Long Branch City Hall's parking lot is also flooded.

The rain is expected to continue throughout the day and into tonight.

Police are warning motorists to not drive into any standing water on roadways.
