PHOTOS: Columbus Day Parade Shines Through

The annual parade down Broadway saw wet weather.

If you missed the annual Columbus Day parade in Long Branch yesterday, you may have avoided getting your feet wet, but you missed out on smiling faces and about two pounds of candy per parade goer.

Cold temps and rainy skies kept away the crowds along Broadway, but those who toughed it out were treated to bag pipers, fire engines, floats, twirlers and high school bands, all with a spirit that couldn't be dampened by the weather.

Patch was there and we now have 158 Tootsie Rolls and 30 Blow Pops to prove it. Next year we'll be more like the little girl in front of Dunkin' Donuts, who brought along her fishing net to catch her loot.
