Number Of Reported Power Outages Continues To Fall

Only 21 reported power outages in Long Branch

Power is returning, streets have been reopened and people are beginning to flock to the city's beaches once again as Hurricane Irene is becoming a distant memory for residents.

The number of reported power outages in Long Branch has dropped to 21 in Long Branch on Friday, according to JCP&L. 

Ocean Avenue has also been reopened after a section of it that stretched from Matilda Terrace to West End Avenue was closed since Sunday.

JCP&L has said most power would be restored to most of Monmouth County by the weekend or early next week.
