Power Restored in Eatontown After Lengthy Outage

JCP&L reported close to 1,000 outages in the borough Sunday night

 

Power has been restored to the nearly 1,000 Eatontown customers who were without electricity for much of Sunday evening.

A power outage map shows that the 942 customers who had been without electrcity since 4 p.m. Sunday now have power.

Eatontown Police Det. Lawrence Tyler said there was a problem at a GPU substation on Pinebrook Road in Eatontown.

Det. Tyler said the outage affected residents in the northwest section of town, including the traffic light at intersection of Routes 71 and 35.

Crews were sent to the substation to restore the power, which was turned back on around midnight.
