It's The First Day For All Local Schools

Long Branch, Shore Regional, West Long Branch Public Schools and Monmouth University all begin classes today

Much to the chagrin of students, summer vacation is over and local schools are opening their doors on Tuesday.

Classes at the Long Branch School District, , the West Long Branch School District and Monmouth Regional all began and most schools are running on a normal schedule.

However, West Long Branch Public Schools students have half days Tuesday and Wednesday, and the district has also announced new school hours.

(BME) School arrival is from 8:25-8:35 a.m.(HR begins at 8:35 a.m.) BME Dismissal is at 3:05 p.m. and abbreviated day dismissal is at 12:48 p.m.

(FAS) arrival is from 7:45-7:55 a.m. (HR begins at 7:55 a.m.). FAS dismissal is at 2:25 p.m. and abbreviated day dismissal is at 12:10 p.m.

students are grabbing their coffee Tuesday morning as classes begin at 8:30 a.m. with late registration and the ability to add or drop classes being held until Sept. 13.

We will try to be at the schools throughout the year to cover as many events as possible and bring readers news about the districts and the students.

School sports also begin this week, and that includes the return of high school football.

Long Branch will play at home against Colts Neck on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. Shore Regional will play on the road against Keansburg on Sept. 10 at 1 p.m.
