Heavy Rain Flooding Long Branch Streets

Reports of multiple cars getting stuck in flood waters

A flash flood warning has been issued for Long Branch as some city streets are beginning to resemble rivers on Sunday morning. 

There are several reports of car getting stuck after trying to drive through flood waters.

At 8:10 a.m., there were reports of a car stuck in the water at the intersection of Norwood Avenue and Broadway. At 8:46 a.m., there were reports of a car stuck in the water on Hollywood Avenue.

The fire department reportedly was called in to help remove both drivers.

The flash flood warning is in effect until 12:45 p.m.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 77. South wind between 10 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. 

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 69. South wind between 9 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. 

Monday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Southeast wind between 8 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 

Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
