When & where: Monmouth Boat Club, 31 Union St., Red Bank, on Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why you should go: Ever thought about sailing? Now you can find out if it’s truly for your. The Monmouth Boat Club is holding its annual open house with information on sailing as well as free sailboat rides.

Family Fun Fair at St. Catherine’s

When & where: St. Catherine’s Church, 180 Bray Ave., Middletown, on Thursday, May 26 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why you should go: The event will feature rides, food , music and other classic fair fun. There will also be contests for the kids such as a Wii bowling tournament, a coloring contest, a crazy hair contest, and more.

What does it cost: Attendance is free, but tickets must be purchased to enter rides and donations are suggested for the contests.

Bocce at Wolcott Park

When & where: Wolcott Park on Willow St. in Eatontown on Tuesdays and Wednesday 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why you should go: Eatontown Recreation is sponsoring free bocce in Wolcott Park. Bocce is a social game that anyone can play. Grab your friends, neighbors and family members for a fun day out in the park. Pre-registration is required. River Rats Memorial Day Party

When & where: 120 Battin Road, Fair Haven, on Monday, May 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why you should go: The Fair Haven Sailing Club (also known as the River Rats) is holding their second annual Memorial Day party. The event will feature free boat rides, a craft table, a treasure hunt, and free food and beverages.

What does it cost: Free

Freehold Memorial Day Parade

When & where: The parade will start at Brinkerhoff Ave. on Monday, May 30 at 10 a.m.

Why you should go: The Freehold Memorial Day Parade is the oldest and largest Memorial Day parade in Western Monmouth County, with an average of more than 70 units participating each year. This year’s parade will feature a fly-over along the parade route by a historic aircraft. Enjoy the company of friends and neighbors as you honor service members’ sacrifice for our freedom.
