SHEEP SHEARING DEMONSTRATION IN HOLMDEL

Saturday and Sunday April 23-24, from noon to 3 p.m.. This is a big annual event! See a fluffy lamb go from before -- to after. It's not easy shearing sheep the old-fashioned way.  The staff at the Monmouth County Historical Association’s Holmes Hendrickson House will demonstrate the way wool was used in Colonial America. Take a wagon ride between the two living history sites. Free, and open to all.

From Sunday, May 1 through Tuesday, May 3, the Count Basie Theatre is showcasing three films for FREE for singles and families to have a fun time out. Check out Finding Nemo at 2 p.m. on May 1, the cinematic classic On The Waterfront on May 2 at 7 p.m., and 1957's A Face in the Crowd on Tuesday, May 3 at 7 p.m. The event is presented by Friends of Film, The Film Foundation and The Count Basie Theatre Foundation. Tickets are free, but must be obtained through the box office.

RECYCLED ART SHOW AT MONMOUTH MALL

Artwork produced by The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore will be presented at Monmouth Mall beginning Saturday, April 23 through May 15. The theme is Earth Day in April with a recycled art sculpture contest. Each girl will create a sculpture using recycled material to reflects one of three themes: reducing plastic waste, using energy efficiently, or planting a garden.

KNIFE WORKSHOP AT WILLIAMS-SONOMA, SHREWSBURY

Williams-Sonoma is offering a class on the one thing every good cook should know how to do--use a knife.  They'll cover serious slicing, dicing, and chopping, as well as more advanced cuts such as chiffonade, julienne, and more.
