Asbury Park Man Charged With Armed Robbery in Long Branch

Man also charged with making terroristic threats and resisting arrest

An Asbury Park man was arrested and charged with armed robbery in Long Branch after threatening to kill a victim.

James Mentor, 24, of Asbury Park was arrested and charged with armed robbery, making terroristic threats and resisting arrest on July 26, according to police.

Police said Mentor allegedly used force to rob his victim and threatened to kill them while simulating the act that he had a gun under his shirt.

While Mentor was being arrested, he allegedly used physical force to against the arresting officer while attempting to flee the scene, according to police.

Mentor's bail was set at $45,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Monmouth County Superior Court on Aug. 2.
