Biggest Loser off to Winning Start!

Eatontown Recreation had its Kick Off Meeting for Biggest Loser and Healthy Habits on May 1st at the Eatontown Community Center at 7pm. The purpose of this meeting was to have participants sign up for either Biggest Loser or Healthy Habits. Nutritional and fitness flyers were made available and Biggest Loser contestants were weighed in.                                                              

Eight “teams” signed up for the Biggest Loser ranging from families, offices, and council teams. Thirteen individuals also signed for Biggest Loser. Healthy Habits had ten participants sign up, all who plan on completing as many items on the activity chart as they can. The activity chart is full of community work outs, beach runs, nutrition hints and tips classes, and more. Both contests give participants the opportunity to win fitness prizes to help continue their healthy living.                                        

The goal of these two new programs is to see a community come together and “Spring into Fitness”. These programs are a part of the Mayors Wellness Campaign and Sustainable New Jersey in which Eatontown’s goal is to “Achieve Wellness!” Recreation director, Janice Grasso, states “We are very happy with the turnout! We are excited to see participants achieve their personal goals and have fun doing it.”
