CVR Ambassadors Donate Goods at Broadcast for the People of NJ

The special needs volunteers were part of the Center for Vocational Rehabilitation's (CVR) Ambassador Program.

CVR Ambassadors donated non-perishable food items and winter clothing at the Neptune Shoprite on Tuesday in support of WRAT's annual Broadcast for the People of NJ. The special needs volunteers were part of the Center for Vocational Rehabilitation’s (CVR) Ambassador Program. The CVR Ambassador Program gives individuals with special needs the chance to contribute to their communities through service and gain valuable socialization opportunities. Donated items will be given to Family Resource Associates, Holiday Express and the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties for distribution over the holiday season.

“Our CVR Ambassadors are a very active, positive force in the community,” said Travis Johnson, Marketing and Activities Coordinator at CVR. “Each time they are given an opportunity to give back, they do so with such joy. Additionally, today was an exciting experience for them because they had an opportunity to be a part of a live radio broadcast, which included hearing the deejay, Rockin Robin, talk about their donations on air.”

The CVR Ambassadors will be hosting a Special Needs Social on Wednesday, December 4th, 2013 and they will be volunteering their time at the Matheny Medical and Educational Center on Sunday, December 21st, 2013.
