Owner of Destroyed Sea Bright Business Recovers With Reopening of Tinton Falls Location

Ribbon cutting for Palumbo's held this week

Tinton Falls Mayor Michael Skudera cut the ribbon to officially welcome Merri-Makers at Palumbo’s into the business community of Tinton Falls on Wednesday Dec. 5.  Palumbo’s is located at 4057 Asbury Ave. in Tinton Falls.

Skudera cut the ribbon across the main entrance surrounded by Merri-Makers owner Andy Bott and his wife Mary, and Palumbo’s owner Attilio Palumbo and his wife Valerie.

“We are very happy to welcome Palumbo’s back into the business community of Tinton Falls," Skudera said

A reception was immediately following the ribbon cutting, welcoming nearly 75 people, including Borough Administrator Gerald Turning and his wife and local business owners, friends and associates. Festive holiday floral décor was provided by Rose of Sharon Florist, located a few doors down from Palumbo’s and guests enjoyed music by local favorite Pat Guadagno.

The facility has been refreshed and is ready to host weddings, parties and corporate events from 25 – 250 people. In addition Palumbo’s now offers The Tavern at Palumbo’s - a wine bar with small plates dining in the space that formerly housed the pizzeria. The Tavern will host live entertainment and will be open Wednesdays thru Saturdays.

Merri-Makers also operated Water’s Edge, a popular beachfront venue in Sea Bright for weddings and events. The building was destroyed by the storm, and left Bott and his staff scrambling to accommodate a wedding that was scheduled for that Saturday.

Fortunately, Palumbo’s was ready for business, so they moved the reception there to the relief of the bride and groom, making for a happy ending in an otherwise devastating situation.

"After being in business 33 years, we are excited to bring our expertise in catering to Palumbo’s, which has been a landmark in the community for the past 16 years," Bott said.
