New Business To Occupy Former Barnes and Noble Site in West Long Branch

Buy Buy Baby will open in Consumer Centre Shopping Center

The former site of Barnes and Noble in West Long Branch will not be vacant for much longer, as a business has been granted permission to occupy the space in the Consumer Centre Shopping Center on Route 36.

Buy Buy Baby, a retail store that sells baby and nursery supplies, was recently approved by the West Long Branch Planning Board to open in the space.

Barnes and Noble closed almost two years ago to move to its , and a chain called Farmers Market had applied to move into the space in 2011. However, after the board questioned the cleanliness and other factors of the chain's other locations, Farmers Market withdrew its application.

Buy Buy Baby was granted some minor signage and parking variances but was not required to submit a site plan because there are no major external changes coming to the building.

There is no timetable yet for the store's opening, but residents can expect to see a coming soon sign for the store in the near future.

We space in April, and nobody had suggested a baby and nursery supply store. What are your thoughts on the decision to open Buy Buy Baby in the Consumer Centre Shopping Center?

Buy buy baby has more options & is way cheaper. They match competitor prices & take bed bath beyond coupons. You can use as many as you' have. I'm very excited for this store as the closest one is in Bridgewater & is far for us! Can't wait till it opens!!!!!
