Midnight Release of Games of War 3 Could Attract Crowds at Game Stop at the Mall

A popular saga in the world of video games, is ending with its third installment with the release of Gears of War 3 at midnight Monday.

Gears of War 3, a shooter game designed specifically for the Xbox 360 by Epic Game, is due to release tonight at the Monmouth Mall Game Stop.

“It’s the finishing of the franchise,” said Game Advisor John Nagtalon, 23.

Doors will re-open at 10 p.m. for fans. However, Gears 3 will not officially release until midnight. New store manager, Anthony Figueroa, said he does not know how many people will show up, but expects to see mostly regulars showing up for the games debut.

“People have been coming in all day to pre-order,” said Figueroa who added that customers should pre-order their copy before the store closes at nine tonight. He plans to set up a tournament for Gears of War 2 at 10 p.m. and have two lines; one for those who pre-ordered and the other for customers looking to buy the game.

There will be no food served, as in previous game release events at Game Stop because their affiliate Chick-fil-A decided not to participate. Gears of War 3 will continue with the Delta Squad leader, Marcus Fenix, still fighting to save the human race from the Locust.
