He said his newest location, which is on the corner of Ocean Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, is much larger.

"We went from 900 square feet to 3,200 and we have more growth potential for employees and a better location," Delacruz said.

Delacruz said making the move from Monmouth Beach was "a risk" but that he is confident it will work.

"I have a great team with me and a great client base," Delacruz said.

He said his salon has clients of all ages and that he has children to 90-year-olds coming in everyday.

"We can really serve anybody with our knowledge, years of experience and color ability," Delacruz said. "90 percent of our business is in the color industry."

Kevin Alan Salon also employees several makeup artists, making the salon a "one-stop shop" for those who wish to get their hair and makeup done for weddings, proms and other events.

"We do it so people aren't going from one place to another to meet their needs," Delacruz said.

Delacruz said he also has a unique exhaust system in his salon that is used during hair treatments so there are no fumes.

The salon also sells shampoos, hair gel and other skincare products.

Delacruz said he believes all the services his salon offers will make it stand out from others in the area.

"It's going to be a rewarding experience as we get to serve more of the community and grow within the parameters we have set," Delacruz said. "I'm also excited for my employees to grow as well."
