Eatontown Wawa Application Carried to April 1

Professional and witnesses were unable to attend Monday night's meeting

An application to build a new Wawa convenience store and gas station on Route 35 in Eatontown has been carried by Eatontown Zoning Board of Adjustment.

The application was scheduled to be presented during Monday night's meeting, but the applicant's attorney Peter Falvo said his professional and other witnesses were unable to attend the meeting.

The board unanimously decided to carry the application to its April 1 meeting at 7:30 p.m.

The application will be second on the agenda and will be preceded by an application to build an indoor miniature golf course on Hope Road.

Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo has said developer's application includes a plan to build a Wawa convenience store, gas station and a strip mall that includes a bank and Chick-fil-A at the site of the vacant Circle Trailer Park near the corner of Route 35 and Wycoff Road.

The developer needs major site plan approval and a variance because the gas station would lie within 2,000 feet of the Exxon gas station across Route 35.
