Eatontown Michaels Craft Store Opening May 20

Store is replacing Office Max that closed last September

 

Residents who drive down Route 35 on their way to the Parkway have seen the sign, but finally, Michaels Craft Store will open its doors this month.

The store is replacing the Office Max which closed last September at 178 Route 35 South in Eatontown and will hold its grand opening on Sunday, May 20.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9:45 a.m. and the store's doors will open to the public for the first time at 10 a.m.

Michaels is the country's largest arts and crafts specialty retailer, according to a release from Michaels Craft Store, and will fill a rather large hole left by Office Max in Eatontown.

“We look forward to welcoming the community in to our new store and showing support for local kids and families,” Store Manager Debra Burgess said in a release. “In addition to our grand opening events, customers will find everything they need for any creative project from DIY home décor, baking and jewelry to kids’ crafts, fine art, custom framing and more.”

As part of its grand opening, Michaels will also give the Starlight Children’s Foundation's local chapter a $200 gift card for craft supplies to provide fun activities for children and their families.

The foundation help seriously ill children and their families cope with the illness by setting up entertainment, education and family activities.

Michaels has stores located on 2135 Route 35 in Holmdel, 2325 Route 66 in Ocean Township and 4345 Route 9 in Freehold and over 1,000 throughout the country.
