Chamber of Commerce Announces Honorees

Two will receive community service awards

The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce will honor two important members of the community during its 77th Annual Business Awards Dinner on March 11 at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa, 1 Ocean Blvd.

Asbury Park Mayor Ed Johnson and Nancy L. Mazza will both receive the 2011 Louis G. Libutti Community Service Award.

In addition to being Mayor of Asbury Park, Johnson is the Director of the Brookdale Community College Long Branch Higher Education Learning Center on Broadway. Mazza, a Little Silver resident, is the Executive Vice President of Retail Banking Colonial American Bank and is a board member of the Ronald McDonald House in Long Branch.

"The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce is delighted to honor both Nancy Mazza and Ed Johnson," Chamber President Esther Cohen said in a release. "Not only as two individuals who are dedicated to their respective fields and have excelled in their careers, but also in their service totheir community in a continual manner.”

  • Invest in Long Branch Award: Strollo’s Lighthouse
  • Business Improvement Awards: SIBCO Properties - 166 Morris Avenue, The Draft House, 100 Brighton Ave., Long Branch Bait and Tackle, 233 Atlantic Ave. and Brighton Opticians, Brighton Avenue.
