Monmouth University Hosting Pink Out For Breast Cancer Awareness

Fan's attending Saturday's football game asked to wear pink

 

Monmouth University’s chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha, and the Monmouth University Football team encourages all fans to wear pink to raise Breast Cancer Awareness during the Nov. 3 game against Central Connecticut State. 

Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Kessler Field on the Monmouth University Campus. Fans will be able to support the Hawks as well as Zeta Tau Alpha's philanthropy, breast cancer awareness and education.

Zeta Tau Alpha was founded on October 15, 1898, at Longwood College in Virginia. At Monmouth University, ZTA was installed as an official chapter of the national organization after having been colonized in 1998

This group of women has a long-standing record of achievement at Monmouth in their former existence as the Gamma Sigma Sigma service sorority. The women petitioned to become a national Panhellenic sorority in the spring of 1998 and have achieved their goal, becoming part of the third largest women’s fraternity in the nation.

ZTA wants to emphasize that Breast Cancer should not be recognized only during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, but instead it should be acknowledged every month throughout the year.
