Eatontown's Memorial School Graduates 118
118 8th grade students of Eatontown’s Memorial School participated in the Commencement Graduation Exercises on Wednesday evening at Monmouth Regional High School. Awards were given to many of the graduates for academic achievement and student leadership
The Memorial School Class of 2013, marked the final graduating class for school Principal Ronald Danielson who is retiring after 43 years with the Eatontown School District. In Mr. Danielsons’s address to the class with the theme “What Have I Learned”, he noted that the middle school years are rough for students and parents, very important and very rewarding. At the end of the program, Mr. Danielson also led the traditional special recognition given every year where grandparents, brothers and sisters along with mothers and fathers of students were all asked to rise and where given a loud ovation by the graduates.
Eatontown Mayor Gerald Tarantolo noted that Mr. Danielson’s job at the school was done masterfully and with great sensitivity. Superintendent of Eatontown Schools Scott McCue referred to the songs performed at the Memorial School Spring Concert and told the students to use the messages from the songs to propel their future work and achievements. He noted, “Haven’t Met You Yet reminds us that we have not met all of the influential people who will guide and shape our futures. But, listening to your parents can be a good start. Don’t Stop Believin helps us to remember the importance of goals, dreams, and hopes in our lives. And last but certainly not least, May the Road Rise to Meet You, serves a grand reminder that everyone in this room tonight wishes you best of luck in all your future endeavors.” Mr. McCue finished by saying “make us proud at Monmouth Regional and later in college and career.”
