Greetings From The Eatontown Borough Council Meeting 6-27-12

If you missed Wednesday nights Eatontown Borough Council meeting:

Members of the Pride In Eatontown group presented certificates to volunteers from various groups and businesses in the borough that took part in the annual Community Cleanup Day this past Spring.

Dozens of bags of litter were picked up in various sections of town. Participants included representatives from Bank Of America, Sheraton Hotel, The Woodmere Civic Association, Monmouth Regional High School football players and cheerleaders, Eatontown Democratic Club, Eatontown GOP, Jersey Life Church, Pride in Eatontown, Eatontown Environmental Commission, Computer Data Source (CDS), The Borough of Eatontown, The Borough Council,  Shade Tree Commission and The Mingo Jack Committee.  

Pride In Eatontown. welcomes new members. The Committee meets the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Eatontown Borough Hall.

In other items of note:

The first Eatontown Farmers Market is expected to be held in mid July at Wampum Park. More information and the exact date will appear in The Patch as soon as it’s available. The Farmers Market is being sponsored by the Eatontown Green Team as a way of drawing attention to downtown businesses.

There will be a presentation by members of the Pride In Eatontown group on August 7 at 3 p.m. in the Council Chamber. The topic will be the use of a trolley theme as part of a downtown beautification project. The project would also involve beautifying the dam at Wampum Park. The original presentation by the group was well received when it was done before the Borough Council at its June 13 meeting.

Phase 2 of the construction of Husky Brook Park should begin in the next few weeks. Among the new amenities will be a tot lot with playground equipment and a metal gazebo.

Mark your calanders!!! “Eatontown Community Day” is set for September 22. (Rain date September 29.)
