Goin' Country for Kids Benefit Supports the Y

The Community YMCA is pleased to announce “Goin’ Country for Kids,” a benefit on Saturday, July 28 featuring country music superstar Clint Black to support the Strong Kids Campaign, which provides free and reduced program and membership fees for local children and families.

The benefit will begin at 5 p.m. with a cocktail reception at Buona Sera honoring long-time Y advocate and Board member Timothy Hogan, regional president of Riverview Medical Center and Bayshore Community Hospital. The reception will be followed by a special concert at 8 p.m. at the Count Basie Theatre featuring Black, long heralded as one of country music’s brightest stars.  Greg Trooper, a singer/songwriter from Little Silver, who now tours nationally and internationally, will open the show.

Sponsorship packages for the benefit with premiere seating for the concert are available by calling the Y at 732.671.5505, ext. 19.

Support for the benefit will help the Y ensure that everyone – regardless of age, income or background -  has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive through Y programs such as afterschool care, youth sports, health and wellness, swim lessons, summer camp, teen leadership and counseling and social services.

The Clint Black concert is presented by the Y and MusicWorks Entertainment. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Y, Monmouth County’s leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Concert-only tickets are available at Count Basie Box Office, by phone at 732.842.9000, or online at www.countbasietheatre.org.
