Snow Supposed To Slam Central, Southern New Jersey This Weekend

Snow is supposed to slam much of central and southern New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for the following New Jersey counties: Monmouth, Middlesex, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May and Burlington.

In Pennsylvania, the following counties are supposed to be affected: Chester and Montgomery.

The chances remain for a "protracted and impacting winter weather event" on Sunday night and Monday day, according to the National Weather Service. This event would affect both the morning and evening commutes on Monday.

Christie will probably cancel his Tuesday town hall "photo opp" in Holiday City, Berkeley -- and hop a plane for a political fund-raiser in Florida.

Pretty absurd Snerd

Are the schools closed for Monday due to the snowmageddon?

The big boy is being tough. He already stated that our the teachers and kids will have to make up every day. According to him, our kids will just have to miss easter break or any planed vacation during that break. Or added on the end of the year. KIds stop doing school work the beginning of June. They are done. I think the Governor should make up all his days too that he takes off, leaving NJ more worried about supporting other Republican politicians in other states and for his bid for the presidency. How many days has he been out of NJ? How many does he owe the people of NJ?

Really, no one on this comment page probably said didly about obama, health care lies or our vets not getting health care, or how about families who signed up for obama are and can not find a doctor. Wait and see in 2016 all those who poke fun at our gov, who by the way has not had one piece of evidence saying he did something wrong, keep trying clowns keep trying

Michelle, I agree with you. No proof of any wrong doing and believe me if there was , his opponents would have a field day with him.

Wall township school district will actually be using a Saturday to make up the next snow day. A full day.....because school on a Saturday is educationally sound. The interim superintendent is afraid to mess with people's vacations over spring break or maybe her own so this was the solution.

I have a little news for people who are thinking "Christie in 2016". That guy isn't even going to get the GOP nod to even run for prez. They are running away from him now. So you should readjust your thinking accordingly. lolz

Seriously? This is a weather related news item. How does everything on ThePatch get turned into a political commentary? Focus, people!

Rick ricky you MUST be a teacher. Yes...the kids need a minimum of 180 days of school. Half a year of education ids not too much to ask. Poor teachers and kids don't get breaks....NO ONE ELSE IN THE WORKING WORLD gets breaks. Somehow they all make it. The reason kids stop doing school work is because teachers start popping in movies in June and having end of the year parties. I work in a school. I see the culture. Heck, this past week was the 100th day so every class had 100th day crowns and parties and made posters about being more than half way done. Think about what that teaches the kids. Yey...we are more than half way done...as if making it 100 days through the torture of learning is a huge accomplishment. If you are counting the governor's work days, I assure you they number more than 180 and he isn't making posters on the 100th day. Grow up.

I think it's funny that no matter what happens in Jersey (in this case a snow storm) it immediately bcomes a political issue. It's a snow storm, blame mother nature as she's the real culprit. If we worked together more like neighbors than political adversaries we would all be better off. Lets figure out what is best for everybody and not whats best for the left or the right. So while so many people are bickering about politics I'm going to check my snow shovel and be prepared for snow.
