SLIDESHOW: Eatontown After Irene

Pictures from the aftermath of the storm.

Three deer posed on a front yard on the corner of Raleigh Court and Sand Spring Drive in Eatontown around 10:30 on Sunday morning seemed startled when a car drove by as folks were just beginning to emerge to assess the damage from Hurricane Irene.

A ride down Route 35 and over to the Woodmere section of town off Wyckoff was slowed by non-working traffic lights from the power outage that as of 12:45 Sunday affected 4,579 in Eatontown. Bob English, who lives in the Woodmere area, reported that power was restored around 11 a.m.

Riding around the streets of Woodmere, there was plenty of debris from the winds that blew through with Irene and the audible hum of generators coming from the yards of those lucky enough to own one. According to Eatontown English, one of the major concerns of residents was flooding in basements.
